Sailing, Smiles & Storytelling – A Volunteer Day with Making Waves Foundation
Earlier this month, I had the privilege of volunteering my time and creative skills with Making Waves Foundation – an incredible not-for-profit based in Brisbane that empowers children with disabilities and those experiencing disadvantage through sailing.
The session took place at the beautiful Sailability Club in Manly, East Brisbane. I joined the crew to capture both video and photography content, documenting a truly inspiring day as children took to the water, many for the very first time.
From onboard action shots to candid moments on the docks and around the clubhouse, my goal was to reflect the joy, courage, and connection that filled the air. I used a mix of handheld and drone cinematography, combined with portrait photography, to showcase the excitement and freedom these experiences bring to young participants.
Collaborating with Making Waves Foundation was incredibly rewarding – not only professionally, but personally. It was an honour to contribute my lens to a cause that’s making a real difference in our local community. I’m grateful for the opportunity and look forward to supporting more meaningful moments in the future.
